BEACON Study Logo

A logo representing a brighter health and social care future for kids in Newfoundland and Labrador.

The contest was held in March 2025 to encourage children and youth to participate in building the study’s logo identity. The BEACON Study logo (as seen below) is meant to capture the inspiration of the children and youth who submitted their designs and create a visual identity for this study.

Logo contest results:

Winner

Jaxson is a Grade 12 student at Bay d’Espoir Academy who loves to draw, write, and play piano. His winning design was inspired by the sense of freedom and safety he feels living in Newfoundland and Labrador. He hopes the province continues to be a positive and safe place for all young people to grow and thrive.

Runner-up

Rebecca, a Grade 9 student at Bay d’Espoir Academy, enjoys sports and volunteering as a junior leader in her community. Her design was inspired by the province’s natural beauty and history. The lighthouse in her logo represents safety, guidance, and hope—values she’s experienced growing up in NL. She envisions strong communities that support youth through mental health services, education, and meaningful opportunities.
